Making better schools – Win your school a Canteen Rescue valued at $40,000!

Canteen Rescue is Colonial First State Global Asset Management’s (CFSGAM) inaugural school project under its innovative Let’s Live Better program, a unique partnership with the Children’s Food Education Foundation to grow healthier communities.
Celebrity fitness trainers, Michelle Bridges and Shannan Ponton of hit television program The Biggest Loser, have joined forces with CFSGAM to proudly support the Let’s Live Better program and promote healthy lifestyles in our communities.

Colonial First State Global Asset Management Head of Retail Operations George Karabatsos said Let’s Live Better was about connecting with local communities and working with them to build a better future.
“This program is not just about green canteens or giveaways, it is about investing in schools and families to build healthy, sustainable communities,” George Karabatsos said.
Passionate food educator and founder of the Children’s Food Education Foundation, Kay Richardson said the Let’s Live Better partnership had already raised close to $40,000 through corporate and consumer donations.
These funds will be invested in an educational resource for teachers to educate our kids about the lifelong benefits of a balanced diet and active lifestyle.

Any purchases at participating Colonial First State Global Asset Management shopping centres in April, May and June will earn schools points and put them in the running to win a Canteen Rescue.
Customers must simply present their shopping receipts to the Customer Service Desk at their nearest centre, nominate a school and for every dollar they spend on regular purchases they will earn their school one point.
You also have the following ways to double your points.
- Double point Tuesdays – spend in centre on a Tuesday to double your points
- Double points stores – spend at any fresh food retailer for double points
3. Double points for members! – Are you are you VIP member? Then you can get access to a member exclusive, double points voucher.
Simply visit the special offers section of the participating shopping centre website, login and print out your voucher. Take your online voucher along with your receipts to the Customer Service Desk to get double the points!
Canteen Rescue is an incredible opportunity for two lucky Australian schools to transform their tired tuck-shops into energy efficient fresh food hubs.
The primary school with the most points at the end of the promotion will win a Canteen Rescue valued at $40,000, which will transform their tired tuck shops into energy efficient and sustainable canteens.
The Canteen Rescue makeover will incorporate a comprehensive solar energy package from NU Energy, energy efficient appliances, an education consultant to design a fresh new menu, a year’s supply of Method’s green cleaning products and $15,000 cash to fund the canteen’s operation.
In addition to the major prize, schools that participate in the competition will also be in the running for big cash prizes as well as weekly giveaways from centre retailers.
For the first time, The Biggest Loser personal trainers are taking their message direct to the kids with a national tour as the new ambassadors for Let’s Live Better.
Shannan and Michelle have dedicated their lives to making fitness and fresh food fun and their amazing work on The Biggest Loser is proof that with simple changes, every Australian can get fit and healthy. It’s a strategy that works wonders with kids too.
The dynamic duo will visit schools and shopping centres in June, criss-crossing the country to promote the healthy living message.
