Colonial First State Global Asset Management began as the funds management arm of the State Bank of NSW in 1988. Since then we have grown from an initial investment capital of A$5 million to more than A$127 billion* in funds under management.
In this time, we have diversified assets under management and expanded into global markets. We have also acquired a number of global asset managers, allowing us to extend our reach into new investment options and establish an international base from which to manage our global assets.
In 2005, Colonial First State Global Asset Management was established as a separate business to the retail product distribution services offered by Colonial First State Investments. Colonial First State Global Asset Management combined the funds management capabilities of Colonial First State Investments with Colonial First State Property (now CFSGAM Property and CFSGAM Infrastructure) and the UK-based First State Investments.
