CFSGAM Property is supported by a specialist, in-house tax team that provides a full suite of taxation advisory services, including direct, indirect and international cross border taxation. The tax operation forms part of the CFSGAM Finance division and reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer of CFSGAM.
The primary responsibilities of our in-house taxation specialists are to:
- provide taxation advice to the funds managed within CFSGAM, including (but not limited to) asset acquisitions and disposals, fund restructures and refinancing, tax compliance concerning the lodgement of income tax returns, business activity statements and other statutory requirements for the relevant funds;
- assist the various transactions and product development teams within CFSGAM concerning product development, structuring of new funds, asset acquisitions and disposals;
- provide taxation advice to Colonial First State Property Management P/L, with respect to the ongoing management and development of the retail asset portfolio;
- liaise with external taxation advisors, the Australian Taxation Office and relevant State Revenue Authorities with respect to all taxation matters; and
- be an active member of the Property Council of Australia (PCA).
Members of the taxation team are currently represented on the National taxation committee and all of the various sub taxation committees of the PCA that are responsible for relevant lobbying efforts concerning taxation.
